The renowned author said in response to a fan that Good Omens Season 2 will tell a completely different narrative, with the follow-up idea he and Pratchett conceived serving as the foundation for Season 3 “if we get there.” Before Good Omens was even released, Gaiman and Pratchett allegedly plotted a sequel, but the task never reached the writing stage.

Good Omens Story So Far
Amazon Prime video series Good Omens is developed on the book of the same name written by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Aziraphale, an angel and Crowley, a demon are guards of the Garden of Eden. But they have been staying on Earth for some 6000 years with Aziraphale and Crowley being ambassadors of heaven and hell respectively. Antichrist, the son of Satan who will bring about an end to the world is being born on Earth. Aziraphale and Crowley who have been living on Earth for a long time have got accustomed to being on Earth and wanted to stop the apocalypse at any cost.
Crowley had the task to lead the antichrist to become a demon and complete his mission. So, Crowley and Aziraphale planned if they can stop the boy from becoming evil there can be a chance. With the apocalypse on its way, they realize their mistake they were grooming the wrong child for 11 years. However, after a series of events, the young boy Adam, who is the Antichrist managed to stop the war. The people of the Earth were living their normal life.
On the other hand, Aziraphale and Crowley are punished by their respective masters but they failed in destroying them. This is because they had swapped themselves. Aziraphale became immune to Hellfire and Crowley to holy water. Hence, they were left alone and they continued living on the earth.
Good Omens Season 2
Good Omens Season 1 was released on May 31, 2019. Because of its success, the program received a second season in June 2021. Since there is only one book and Season 1 has covered all of it, there remains uncertainty surrounding the second season. However, there are high hopes and expectations for the second season after the massive success of the first.
There is no official confirmation regarding the release date of Season 2 but as rumours have it, Season 2 can release in Summer 2023. The Good Omens season 2 production was finished in March 2022, according to director Douglas McKinnon’s tweet. Assuming a similar post-production schedule, season 2 would premiere in late May or early June 2023.
