Till now there has been no word from the makers or Netflix regarding God’s Favourite Idiot Part 2. Netflix had officially announced sixteen episodes but only 8 episodes premiered on June 15, 2022. This means that the rest of the 8 episodes are on the way. Netflix decided to split the episodes into two parts. This could mean that the next set of episodes will be counted as the second season or part 2 of the first season. Considering all these we can speculate that the second season will premiere sometime in 2023.

God’s Favorite Idiot Part 1- Where Did It End?
In the first season, it is shown that Clark gets thunderstruck one fine day and develops some fantastical abilities. After getting struck by the thunder of the unusual cloud he became a sort of messenger of God and started glowing. People in his workplace became shocked and a co-worker he had a soft corner for, Amily nearly fainted on seeing the glow on him. Gradually, the news spread outside the office as well and Clark became popular overnight. Some people believed him to be a messenger of God and some trolled him, calling him names. Even Clark himself was not sure in the beginning but while taking a stroll with Amily, Chamuel who is an angel comes and informs Clark that he is being chosen by God as his messenger.
Thus, Clark started spreading God’s words. Clark’s co-worker Tom becomes his follower. Satan arrives to finish off Clark and tries to have a face-off but fails every time. Chamuel saves him from Satan but she hurts Clark’s father and he goes into a coma. Four horsemen arrive to start the war. Amily and Clark had to escape as God may need them again sometime. Tom, Mohsin, Wendy and Chamuel distract Satan and the horsemen so that they could leave.
God’s Favorite Idiot Season 2- What Will Happen?
Part 1 of God’s Favourite Idiot left us with numerous cliffhangers. Thus, the plot regarding God’s Favourite Idiot Part 2 remains unsure. In the first part, we saw Amily and Clark leaving town. However, a cluster of plague insects follow them and this creates curiosity. Probably in the second part Amily and Clark will be back with another God’s mission where the plague insects will have something to play. The story mainly focuses on Clark Thompson. So Ben Falcone who is also the show’s creator will reprise his role. Along with him Mellisa McCarthy, Leslie Bibb, Yanic Truesdale. and Usman Ally. Some new characters might be also there. Most of it is unsure, as the creators haven’t released any trailers or clips regarding Part 2.
