Lost Women Of Highway 20 Season 1 focuses on the real-life incidents that occurred along Highway 20 in Oregon. Oregon is a state in the US. Several people disappeared, and the police found many women raped and murdered. They traced the crimes back to a local mechanic, John Arthur Ackroyd. He was a prime suspect in about three to four cases before the police prosecuted him for the murder and rape of Kaye Turner in 1978.
Marlene Gabrielsen is the only known victim of Ackroyd’s who survived his assaults. She is probably his first victim. Ackroyd is also suspected to be involved in the disappearance of Rachanda Pickle, his stepdaughter. No one has found her. John Arthur Ackroyd was sentenced to five life sentences but died before they could prosecute other cases against him.
