The story of Zom 100 revolves around 24-year-old Akira Tendo, who works at ZLM. He is frustrated with his stagnant life and finds no joy in daily mundane tasks. He has lost the will and motivation to live a happy life. The sole reason for him not quitting ZLM is Saori Ohtori, who treats him with kindness.

When he tries to save Saori, he realizes both she and his boss are zombies now. He kills the CEO and confesses everything to his love before escaping.
Akira uses the zombie outbreak as an opportunity to live his life again! He creates a bucket list of his wants and desires, meaning to fulfill them before he dies. His friend Kencho joins him in his crazy endeavors inside the zombie city.
They do many things, like eating at an expensive restaurant for free, checking out haunted houses, and enjoying the rollercoaster. Akira and Kencho also make the acquaintance of other humans trying to survive. At the same time, they have to save themselves from the zombie infestation.
