The story is about a young girl, Mbali Hadebe, who is an influencer. She has a big social circle and lives in a world where her choices are dependent upon likes and dislikes. Mbali’s social world crashes down when her politician mother gets caught in the corrupt agenda of stealing money.

Mbali and her mother found themselves at the bottom of the social hierarchy, they couldn’t climb that social ladder again as everyone they knew, friends, co-workers, and neighbors turned their back on them.

They begin their life again by staying low and moving to a new town, Mbali started her education at  Grahamstown University. She developed a crush on the GU rowing team captain, Sivuyile Levin, she also befriended Jay and Natalie who is Sivu’s sister.

But her mother’s actions started affecting her relationships with her friends and crush, so she decided to help Sivu in winning the election. In the end, Sivu won the election but everyone started questioning the legitimacy of the election. The Miseducation Season 1 ended on the scene of the entry of Mbali’s mother in Grahamstown.

Fans were shocked and excited by the ending of the first season of the Netflix series, shocked because they didn’t accept this abrupt ending, excited because they wanted to know what would happen next, and thrilled that Miseducation was going to get its second season.
