Linear Simultaneous Equations will be revisited, and students will learn various methods for solving such equations, including elimination, substitution, cross multiplication, and comparison. Practical problems involving linear simultaneous equations will also be addressed to provide real-world contexts for understanding and applying these concepts.

Properties of Parallelograms will cover the concepts of quadrilaterals, trapeziums, parallelograms, rectangles, squares, and rhombuses. Students will learn about the equality of opposite sides and opposite angles in a parallelogram. They will also learn that a parallelogram is divided into two congruent triangles by each of its diagonals.

Various conditions for a quadrilateral to be a parallelogram will be explored, such as equal opposite angles, equal opposite sides, and parallel opposite sides. Additionally, the proof that the diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other will be presented.

The line segment connecting the midpoints of any two triangle sides will be the main topic of the study of the transversals and midpoints theorems. A straight line that is parallel to the second side of a triangle and is drawn across one of its midpoints, bisecting the third side, will also be taught to students. The theorem states that the intercept obtained from the parallel line by two sides of the triangle is half the length of the second side. Another theorem explores the equal lengths of intercepts made by three or more parallel lines on a transversal. Students will learn about the ideas and uses of cost in the Profit and Loss course.

Summative Assessment-3 (December) covers several important mathematical topics, beginning with the concept of the area of a circular region. Students will learn the formula for calculating the area of a circle and understand its significance. Additionally, they will be introduced to the concept of the area of a sector of a circle, which involves finding the fraction of the entire circle’s area enclosed by a central angle. Practical problems will be presented to help students apply these concepts and understand their real-world relevance.

The assessment also includes the topic of Coordinate Geometry, specifically focusing on determining the coordinates of a point when a straight line segment is divided internally or externally in a given ratio. Students will learn how to apply formulas and concepts to determine the coordinates of a point based on specific ratios and divisions along a line segment. This knowledge helps develop a deeper understanding of coordinate geometry and its applications in various contexts.

The concept of logarithm is another essential topic covered In this assessment. Students will explore the necessity and definition of logarithm, understanding its role in solving equations and representing exponential relationships. Exam Pattern Of WBBSE Class 9

The West Bengal Board 9th Exam Pattern for 2023 incorporates several significant features. The assessment structure includes both Summative and Formative Assessments, which will be conducted three times a year for all subjects. The total marks allocated for both the Formative and Summative Assessments combined is 170.

The Summative Assessments primarily consist of written tests that evaluate students’ knowledge and understanding of the subjects. On the other hand, the Formative Assessments assess students’ performance based on various parameters, such as participation, cooperation, questioning, experimentation, interpretation, application, and creative and aesthetic abilities.

Notably, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education has abolished the Pass/Fail system for Classes 6 to 9, emphasizing a more holistic approach to student evaluation. To be promoted to the next grade, students need to achieve a minimum of 25% marks in both the Formative and Summative Assessments.

In case a student fails to meet this requirement, they will be granted an additional one-month preparation period and given another opportunity for evaluation before being considered for promotion to the next class. This system encourages continuous learning and provides students with a chance to improve their performance and move forward in their academic journey.
