WB TET Eligibility Criteria
For the West Bengal TET exam, you must:
- Have completed a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) from an institution accredited by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and affiliated with a board of education designated by the NCTE.
- Have passed the Higher Secondary Exam/Senior Secondary Exam (or its equivalent 10+2) with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for Reserved Category Candidates) and 4yr Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
- The candidates must successfully complete the Higher Secondary Exam/Senior Secondary Exam (or it’s equivalent 10+2) with at least 50% marks (45% for students from the Reserved Category), as well as a Rehabilitation Council of India-recognized Diploma in Education (Special Education) (RCI).
- There is no mention of qualifying marks in the case of graduation applicants.
- There is a 5% leniency if the candidate is in the reserved category, so earning 5% of the points is all that is required to meet the eligibility criteria.
For Primary Teacher
- A candidate should have studied in Class XII with 50% marks and must have passed the TET exam.
- Senior Secondary or equivalent exam scoring at least 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, following the NCTE
- Senior Secondary or equivalent exam with not less than 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education
- A candidate should have obtained at least 50% marks in the Senior Secondary (10+2) examination with a minimum of two years experience as a teacher.(Special Education)
- Graduation degree scoring minimum 50% marks and B.Ed degree

WB TET Application Form
The application form will be visible online at its official website in the month of October 2023. Candidates must complete an application form online. Enter all the correct details in the application form and upload the required scanned documents such as photos and signatures. Eligible candidates must apply online only and have no other application method. The application is done online after paying the fee and generating a reference ID. Once you have completed your online application, you will need to make a hard copy. Please pay the registration fee and click the submit button. Take a hard copy of your application form for future purposes.
WB TET Important Dates
- Candidates have to download the admit card by online process from the official website sanctioned by the Government of West Bengal.
- To download the registration card, enter the applicant’s registration number and date of birth which will be used as the login and password credentials of the candidate.
- Electronic Admission/Hall Tickets are available on the Web Portal
- The examination authority will not send the Admit card by any means of transport.
- The examination authority will not send the scorecard or the result individually.
- Results display the Candidate’s Name, Grade/Result Number, Test Center, and other information about the candidate. Please check whether the details about the candidate are true or not.
