The Rig explores the genre of drama, thriller, and supernatural. The story revolves around the crew members of the oil rig on the north sea Scottish coast called Kinloch Bravo. They were returning home when the ship was covered by an unexpected fog that cut off them from the outside world.
The fog surrounding the ship was not normal and there were some kind of spores found in the fog that infected the onboard crew members on the ship.
They were in quarantine to check their behavioral changes and the scientists who were on the ship examined the spores and discovered that they are ancient parasites that are now on the ship and infecting the crew members.
