The Night Manager is a Bollywood spy thriller web series that has been adopted from a book of the same name written by John Le Carré. The web series has been created and directed by Sandeep Modi along with Priyanka Ghose and produced by John Le Carré, Preity G Zinta, Rishi Negi, Deepak Dhar, and David Farr to name a few.
The Night Manager book was also adapted into a Hollywood web series starring Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie. The Bollywood version of it starring everyone’s favorite Aditya Roy Kapur, received a rating of 8 from IMDb and 83% from Google. The makers released the first season on 16th February 2023.
The reviews were positive, and the audience considered the web series as a breath of fresh air in the Hindi web series industry. The second installment of The Night Manager was much expected, and the wait was worth the while.
The Night Manager Season 2 Release Date

The Night Manager Season 2 Story
The plot of The Night Manager focuses on Shaan and his revenge on Shelley. At the opening of the first season, Shaan was working as the night manager at The Star Hotel in Dhaka, Bangladesh during the Rohingya genocide. He meets a teenage girl named Safina staying at the hotel, who gets murdered later by her husband because she recorded incriminating evidence against Shelly and his gang.
Her husband, Freddie Rehman turns out to be the owner of the hotel and a special contact of Shelly’s. Shaan could not overcome the trauma of Safina’s death when all he wanted was to help her and get rid of Shelly’s underworld practices along with Lipika, a RAW agent.
Two years later, Shaan bumps into Shelley again at a hotel in Shimla. Seeing him brought back all his repressed memories, and he decided to avenge Safina. Lipika and Shaan make a plan to infiltrate Shelly’s inner circle since this is the only way to ensure his downfall.
Shaan puts up a lot of acts to earn their trust and acceptance. He even put BJ, Rungta’s most trusted man in jail on account of homosexuality. Homosexuality or liking someone of your gender is a crime in Saudi Arabia where they were staying after the Manali trip.
Having no one else by his side, Shelly enlists Shaan’s help and wants to make him the CEO. Shaan agrees to it, and the first part ends there clarifying that his plan to get into Shelly’s inner circle was successful. The Night Manager season 2 will focus on the results of the plan, probably a violent face-off between the leads, BJ’s story, and more.
The Night Manager Season 2 Cast
The casting director has made some amazing choices for the roles of Shantanu Sengupta, lovingly called Shaan, and Shailendra Rungta, known by everyone as Shelley. Aditya Roy Kapur and Anil Kapoor did an excellent job of portraying the protagonist, Shaan, and antagonist, Shelly respectively.
Sobhita Dhulipala played the role of Kaveri, Shelly’s girlfriend, and they cast Saswata Chatterjee as Brij Pal, his right-hand man. Shelley and his gang refer to him as BJ. Tillotama Shome played Lipika Saikia Rao, the RAW officer, and Joy Sengupta played her superior.
Ravi Behl, Rukhsar Rehman, Supriya Shukla, Arista Mehta, and Resh Lamba were cast as supporting actors. The main cast would probably reprise their original roles in the second installment of The Night Manager.
