NieR: Automata Anime Season 2 Plot:

NieR: Automata season 1 post-credit scene teases some hints for the upcoming season. In the end, 9S encounters two twin girls who reveal the truth about the project YohRa. He learns that humans are extinct, and YohRa manipulates the androids by making them believe that humans survived on the moon. Season 2 will continue the war between YohRa and Androids. 

NieR: Automata Anime Season 2 Trailer:

After a long wait, the final four episodes aired on July 23, 2023. Along with the four episodes, a 43-second extended trailer came out that green light the second season of NieR Automata. The teaser trailer shows us glimpses of what will happen in season 2. 

In the trailer, we see the commander reading a declaration about the next phase of the war. We also witness some glimpses where 9S and 2B are fighting with machine lifeforms. There was a glimpse where we could see Devola and Papola in a dangerous situation.  

NieR: Automata Anime Season 1 Recap:

Season 1 begins in the far future of 5012, where Earth faces a sudden alien invasion with their machine lifeform, which leads to human extinction. Some who survived took refuge on the moon. The survivors send android soldiers to Earth for a counterattack. 

The war continues on the Earth as the machine lifeforms keep multiplying. To end this endless war, humans send a new unit of android soldiers, YohRa. 2B joins 9s on Earth to end the war together. They join hands to end the machine lifeform of Adam. 

In the finale, a commander goes against the plan and blasts the Bunker’s satellite. Still, they receive signals from Adam, and they find him injured. 9S and 2B deliver the final blow and kill him. Adam’s death caused the end of the machine lifeform attack. 

While doing this, 9S gets infected, and 2B has no other options but to end his suffering. Somehow, 9S saves himself by transferring his consciousness to another machine, and season 1 ends with a small post-credit scene.
