 Hope Street Seasons Recap

Hope Street’s plot revolves around the fictional Northern Irish town of Port Devine and its police department.

In the first season, DC Leila Hussain’s arrival in the town arose suspicion in the hearts of people. Leila was working undercover as dangerous people were chasing her.

This secret was only known by Inspector Finn O’Hare and he kept it from everyone. Apart from him, his colleagues Marlene Pettigrew and PC Calum MacCarthy get curious about Leila and put her in danger by posting about her in the local newspaper.

Rafid Kartar, an old acquaintance of Leila arrived in the town after seeing that newspaper. He is the brother of Zayn, a criminal who smuggles guns.

Leila was investigating the case of the Zayn gang by getting deliberately close to Rafid.

At the end of Season 1 Leila gathered enough evidence to bring Zayn and his gang in the court. Finn admitted his feelings for Leila and kissed her.

But it got complicated for him when his wife Siobhan arrived in the town. The couple got separated when Finn found out that his wife is having an affair with his son’s P.E. teacher.

Siobhan intention for returning was to reestablish her relationship with Finn but was devasted to know that her husband and Leila are seeing each other.

Siobhan has cancer and when Leila came to know about this, she decided to leave the town. Finn came to know about both, Siobhan’s cancer and Leila leaving the town.

Finn, in the last episode, was seen driving his car at full speed and got into an accident. This leaves fans on a cliffhanger not knowing if he was rushing to Leila or Siobhan.

In the second season, Leila’s presence was replaced by Finn’s former colleague DC AI Quinn who came to Port Devine for an undercover mission but when his daughter caught into the crossfire of his mission, he was willing to cross any line.

Season 2 was set after six months after Finn’s accident, he has become an empty shell, dealing with the aftermath of the accident and his failed marriage with Siobhan.
