For David, the show ended as he wanted it to end, Hanna’s journey from childhood to adulthood was coming to an ending in the third season. She was able to make peace with her past and was finally free.
The ending was open to interpretation, Hanna was finally able to free herself from the shackles of her past and would live however she wants to.
Although David said if he could think of a story for Hanna then he would surely write it. Hence there will be no Hanna Season 4.

Hanna Plot
The show is full of action and drama, it is the journey of Hanna from her childhood to adulthood.
The story revolves around a 15-year-old girl, Hanna. She lives with a man named Erik Heller, who is her father and is a trained agent.
Hanna was the child of Johanna who was the pregnant woman recruited by Erik into a CIA program. She was given the code name UTRAX and Hanna was part of the super soldier’s program. The children’s DNA was enhanced to create them into a killing machine.
Fortunately, Erik falls in love with Hanna’s mother, Johanna. He rescued both Hanna and her mother but while running away from the other CIA agents Johanna was killed.
Erik took Hanna [who was a baby at that time] to an isolated part of the forest in Poland. Since then Erik was training Hanna.
Hanna only knows her father and never had any human contact. Meanwhile, on the other side, the CIA has ordered one of their agents, Marissa to kill all the other super soldiers as they were shutting down the project.
