Dracula Untold is a supernatural horror movie produced by Michael De Luca, written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, and directed by Gary Shore. This movie was supposed to be the first in Universal’s new project, the Dark Universe, which would comprise movies featuring epic monsters like Frankenstein and Dracula. However, things got messed up during production and Tom Cruise’s ‘The Mummy’ took the credit for being the opening movie of Universal Picture’s Dark Universe.
Dracula Untold ended with a cliffhanger leading fans to believe that a second movie would come soon. However, there has been little news on the makings of Dracula Untold 2. The first movie received a rating of 6.2 from IMDb and did not live up to the original ‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula’ movie starring Keanu Reeves, Gary Oldman, and Winona Ryder.
Dracula Untold 2 Release Date
Dracula Untold 2 was expected to be on the list of Universal’s Dark Universe franchise. But, the first movie could not fare well, thus bringing down hopes for a sequel. There has been no news or any statement regarding the production or filming of the second installment. Dracula Untold 2 release date might not come, and even if it does, it might be after 2024.

Dracula Untold 2 Story
Dracula Untold opens the movie with Vlad who is the heir to the kingdoms of Transylvania and Wallachia spending most of his childhood training to be a soldier for the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire. He was so excellent at battles that they named him ‘Vlad, the Impaler, Son of the Dragon.’
After growing up, Vlad rules over his kingdoms in peace. One day, Vlad and some of his soldiers discover a Turkish helmet. Thinking that his land might be in danger, they search further for the enemy, when they arrive at Broken Tooth Mountain.
All of them get attacked by something inhuman in the cave above the mountain. Vlad somehow saves his life and returns to his home, where he learns the truth about the inhuman beast they encountered. That beast was a vampire who was turned that way in return for fame and power by a demon.
During the Easter dinner, an emissary of the Turks visits Vlad’s palace asking for a thousand boys to be trained in the Ottoman army. Vlad tries to convince Sultan Mehmed II against his decision, but the Sultan remains adamant. He even demands Îngeras be turned over to him.
Seeing no way out, Vlad goes to the vampire in the cave for help. The vampire agrees to help, but there are certain conditions. If Vlad drank human blood before 3 days were over, he would turn into the same beast and free the old one. He agrees and defeats the Ottoman army with his new powers.
A few days later, the castle was attacked again. This time, the Turks were smart and kidnapped Îngeras. Vlad reaches the scene to see Mirena fallen on the ground and drinks her blood at her request. He even turns the remaining survivors into vampires and they march towards Sultan Mehmed. The protection against vampires could not keep Vlad and his soldiers from destroying the Sultan’s army.
Vlad sends his son away and tries to kill all the vampires with sunlight, but a mysterious man saves him. The movie ends in present-day London, where Vlad meets Mina who’s a carbon copy of his dead wife, Minera. It is hoped that Dracula Untold 2 might follow the story of Mina, Jonathan, Reinfield, Van Helsing, and Dracula. It could also be based on the book ‘Dracula’ since the end signifies that era.
