ASRB NET Exam 2023: How To Apply, Selection Process, Eligibility Criteria!

According to the Rules and Schemes of Examination detailed in this official Announcement, the Agricultural Sciences Recruitment Board (ASRB) will conduct a combined examination for the NET-2023, Subject Matter Specialist (SMS), and Senior Technical Officer (STO) Examination-2023 in online computer-based (CBT) mode on a divided slot-wise examination format. The examination will be staggered slot-wise and will begin at various times throughout the day.

The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board National Eligibility Test, which is more popularly known as the ASRB NET, is an examination that is held on a nationwide level and is administered by the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board. A candidate is required to carefully study the provisions that are included in this Notification and agree to adhere to those provisions. The candidate is required to satisfy all of the conditions of eligibility, including age limits, educational qualifications, and other requirements, before being admitted to the examination. The procedure for submitting an application online is available from 22nd March 2023 and will continue until 10 April 2023, after which the link will be automatically deactivated.

At the time of the submission of their online application, the applicants are not needed to include a copy of any of the documents or certificates that support their candidature in the form of an attachment. They should check their personal qualifications for taking the test. In the case that the Board discovers that a candidate does not meet the eligibility requirements at any point in the process, including after the results have been announced, the candidate’s candidature will be revoked, and they will be subject to legal action.

Candidates need to exercise extreme caution while filling up their online application forms in order to avoid having their NET Certificates invalidated by the fact that they were not issued via the DigiLocker software, which is the only method by which the certificate could be delivered to qualified applicants. There can be no request for a change in any of the information provided, including but not limited to the examination center, subject area, name, father’s name, DOB, gender, e-mail address, mobile phone number, category, medium of instruction or any of the other fields.

The candidate is responsible for keeping a scanned copy of his or her most recent photograph in passport size. For uploading during the submission phase of the application form, photographs must be taken against a white background and have a maximum file size of 150 KB in.jpg format or a maximum file size of 80 KB in.jpg format.

Candidates are highly advised to ensure that the relevant information is uploaded in the application form in a proper manner and is legible. They should only utilize scanned copies that are clear and not blurry or hazy because the application form might not be accepted if the copies are not clear enough. The applicant’s photograph and signature would be used to create the Admission Certificate, and verification of both the photograph and signature would be required in order to get access to the examination location.

NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST (NET)

The National Eligibility Test (NET) is a qualifying examination that is used to determine eligibility for the position of Lecturer/Assistant Professor at the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities.  Those who are interested in taking this exam must complete the NET-2023 online (CBT) examination. Applicants may apply for the position of Lecturer or Assistant Professor at the SAUs/AUs after passing the National Eligibility Exam. The ASRB will give NET certificates in digital format to qualified applicants via the DigiLocker app, allowing them to apply for vacancies that will be notified or promoted by the State Agricultural Universities/other Agricultural Universities. The SAUs/AUs shall verify the legitimacy of the candidates’ NET Certificates and any other required credentials before offering them a position as a lecturer/assistant professor.

PRESCRIBED EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

A candidate must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in the relevant discipline and specialisation that was earned on or before September 30, 2023, from any Indian university established by an act of the Central or State Legislature of India.

AGE LMIT

A applicant must be at least 21 years old as of January 1, 2023. 

NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS

There is no limit on the number of times a candidate may submit an application to take the National Eligibility Test.

SUBJECT MATTER SPECIALIST (SMS)

Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) positions in Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) under the administrative jurisdiction of ICAR are directly filled through the SMS Examination. The candidates who are interested in participating in this examination for the purpose of selection for the position of SMS are required to participate in both the computer-based test (CBT) examination as well as the interview. After an online exam and an in-person interview, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research may propose a candidate for the position of Subject Matter Expert (SMS) (ICAR)

SENIOR TECHNICAL OFFICER (STO)

The Senior Technical Officer (STO) position at ICAR Hqrs and its Research Institutions is filled through a competitive examination known as the STO Examination. Successful candidates would be recommended for employment as Senior Technical Officer (STO) of Indian Council of Agricultural Research based on their performance in an online examination and an interview (ICAR)

ASRB NET Admit Card 2023:

Applicants will be able to download their ASRB NET Admit Card on the official website if they have successfully submitted their application form. The admit card will be issued to applicants no later than 15 days prior to the examination.

The applicants are required to bring their admit cards with them to the examination center. This is a very important document. Aspirants who do not have an admit card will not be permitted to enter the examination room.

ASRB NET Answer Key 2023:

Candidates who have already taken the exam will receive the ASRB NET Answer Key. This will be done when the exam has been completed.
